History
The Manikya dynasty ruled for centuries; migration and Partition transformed the state’s demographic and cultural landscape. Manikya rulers maintained a court with regional connections recorded in texts such as the Rajmala, which combines different kinds of historical and traditional narrative. Partition and migration transformed the modern state. Community histories of the hills and plains must be considered together without treating demographic change as a simple cultural replacement.
