Our mission

Irava exists to help anyone — a student, a traveler, a lifelong learner — understand India's cultures with depth and respect. We believe every tradition has a why as much as a what, and that learning it well takes more than a paragraph on a search page.

Our editorial approach

Every community contribution is read by an editor before it appears in the library. We check facts, tighten wording, and preserve the contributor's voice. The AI guide is tuned to explain cultural context, adapt to the reader's depth, and defer to human editors on nuance.

Who built Irava

Irava was created by Bhavika Karnatak and Katherine Avishka Immanuel, two students who wanted a better way to explore Indian culture than scattered articles and shallow summaries.
